By Steve Quinn: Appeals Court: Playground fire restitution needs further review
The fire occurred on July 26, 2014, when the then 15-year-old R.C. and a friend started a fire at Willow Crest playground. R.C., however, returned to the school and set a second fire. Both later confessed to third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminally negligent burning.

The courts adjudicated them as minors. Damage for the first fire reached slightly more than $108,000; the second fire caused nearly $51,000 damage.

The Department of Law had no comment on the decision.

Pollard was in Anchorage for Thanksgiving, but says he will be back in Alaska in February to speak with area schools and hopefully return to rural Alaska.

He said also has a project working with the actors in Marvel’s “Avengers” movie series that will come to fruition sometime next year.
