Newly elected Alaskan lawmaker Josh Revak, a veteran who’s using the GI Bill to obtain his master’s degree, says that despite the challenges, the benefits from GI Bill could greatly improve a veteran’s life.

“Aside from all the challenges that folks have been experiencing with the GI Bill, if there’s veterans out there who have not used their GI Bill and still have it available, I would encourage those folks to test their own boundaries and get into school and start taking some classes,” Revak said.

He must also pay a $20,000 fine and issue a public apology in a national magazine that covers commercial fishing.

Notice: Public Comment Period Extended for Regulations Dealing with PFAS Cleanup Levels
The public comment period has been extended to 5:00pm Tuesday November 13, 2018 to allow additional time provide comments on the DEC’s proposal to amend regulations in 18 AAC 75. The proposed changes update and add cleanup levels for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) for soil and groundwater.

The DEC welcomes your comments on the proposed changes to the regulations and the updated adopted-by-reference documents.
