Ronald Komakhuk arrested on Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Sexual Assault charges; there may be more victims

From the Department of Public Safety:

On February 4th 2020 at 16:01 hours, AST received a reported of a teenager getting sexually abused by a family member identified as Ronald Komakhuk, 53, of Anchor Point. The teenager was forensically interviewed and disclosed multiple incidents of sexual abuse by Komakhuk that occurred during the early morning of January 25th 2020 and several other occasions that took place at a residence in Wasilla.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that a second family member was sexually abused by Komakhuk during the early morning of January 25th 2020. On April 15th 2020, a Palmer court issued an arrest warrant for Komakhuk for two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree, four counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree, one count of attempted Sexual Assault in the First Degree, one count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, and one count of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree. On April 15th 2020 at 18:21 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point placed Komakhuk under arrest and remanded him to the Homer jail.

Based on investigation, Investigators believe Komakhuk may have additional victims in communities across Alaska going back to the 1990s, including the Anchorage area. Anyone with information regarding a crime committed by Komakhuk is encouraged contact Troopers in Palmer at 907-745-2131.

Please view the attached photos of Komakhuk from 2008 and 2019. If anyone in the Anchorage area believes they have been victimized by Ronald Komakhuk, or if they have any additional information about this investigation, they are asked to please contact non-emergency Dispatch at 3-1-1.
