ALASKA WOMEN WRITE, A Group of word-loving-women!

Alaska Women Write is a group of word loving women who meet weekly to edit, critique and enjoy our writing. We meet each Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at 917 W. 12th St. in downtown Anchorage.

This gentle group of women share information about getting published, local events of interest and our writing adventures. Location may be changing this summer.

Local art galleries and many small shops participate by featuring a new artist solo show or group show. Enjoy food, socialize and find great artwork! First Friday of each month, year-round.

Breast Cancer Support Group
Last Monday of Each Month, 7 - 9 PM at the Alaska Regional Cancer Resource Center, Medical Office Building B, Suite 220, Anchorage. Come together with other women in a safe and caring environment to share your feelings, experiences and support, or voice your concerns and learn about resources and treatments.

Anchorage YWCA:
Recent and ongoing programs include Women's Health Issues, Financial Issues for Women, ENCOREplus, breast and cervical cancer education, outreach, and screening program, Native Mother/Daughter Program for 6th grade girls and their moms, the Female Minority Leadership Conference for junior high school girls and WOMEN$fund, a micro-lending program for women who want to start their own businesses.

SAFE in Dillingham
Women are invited to participate in our Thursday night support group, which includes dinner, steam and group discussion. Transportation and childcare provided upon prior arrangement. Group starts at 7:00 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m.
