Are you interested in learning about the operations of the Anchorage Police Department and how our various law enforcement units work to protect our city?

APD officers, detectives and support staff want to share with you what they do and how they serve our community.

The Anchorage Police Department and the Anchorage Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association (APCAAA) is hosting its semi-annual Citizens Police Academy beginning September 11, 2019 through December 4, 2019. The program is designed to promote and enhance citizen understanding and awareness of the role of the Anchorage Police Department within our community. Topics include drug investigations, firearms safety, traffic investigations, SWAT operations, cyber-crimes, K-9 program, crime scene investigations and much more.

The academy is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the APD Training Center located at 3760 West Dimond Blvd (corner of Jewel Lake & Dimond).

Applications for the Citizens Academy are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019.
