Patricia Neal:

For those of you who research family or history…it pays to be out there on a website so that people can find you.
Over the years I have been contacted by people connected to the Wrangell Garnet Ledge and the women who owned the company. I have met some of their relatives by email or phone. Some great friendships have come from that.
Today, I received a phone call from a gentleman who wanted to talk to me about the Dardanelles Amalgamated Mines in Arizona. One of Anna E. Durkee’s mines. He had a couple of stock documents he wanted to talk to me about. OMG! They are actual stock certificates! One document is signed by Anna E. Durkee! I recognize the other names on the documents.
I am dancing a jig! I have wanted to find something of her Arizona years other than newspaper clippings, deeds, etc. He is trading the documents for a copy of my book. How cool is that? Think I will send him some garnets, too. And that is a sign that I need to start working on Anna’s Arizona mining days.
It goes to prove what I keep telling people: Never give up. You will be contacted sometime out of the blue with part of what you are looking for and surprise you. The internet can be a very valuable resource.
How he found me:
